Anyone within earshot of me recently knows that I’m training for my first marathon,

Between the actual running, you also have to take recovering, stretching, fuelling and hydrating into account. In other words, it takes a lot of organisation!

Here’s how my marathon organising has mirrored into my business organising;

⭐ Plan, Plan, Plan: Routine and structure have been the most important part of my marathon training, and they’ve become the most important part of my business too. I now schedule in specific times during the week for bookkeeping, planning my marketing posts, client outreach and CPD.

⭐ Rest and Recovery: You can’t run on an empty tank, and you certainly can’t work on one either. Having boundaries, establishing clear work hours and ensuring time to engage in activities outside of work to make sure that you can hit the ground running (excuse the pun) when you open your laptop.

⭐ Remember your Why: It’s so easy to get bogged down in emails, projects and other ad hoc tasks that can distract you from enjoying work, your goals and what you want to achieve.

Does anyone else have any hobbies that have transversal skills? Or anyone else out there training for a marathon?
